Long live this amazingly bittersweet thread. I'm going to add one of my all-time favorite records to the list: The Cocteau Twin's "Milk And Kisses" . The music and songwriting is nothing short of spectacular, (this is what I pray the future of music will sound like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ty...

1" 8-Track Tape Machines Under $1k

What's good out there? I'd just go for a 16-track 2" if I could afford it. I've been hearing a lot of good stuff about Otari, and then there's always Tascam. Anything else? Any thoughts or suggestions? ThanX!

What's your funeral song?

Me and my friends used to joke that if one died before the other, then they would play The New Kids On The Block's "Hangin Tough" at their funeral. "He always loved that song" The song that I would like to have played at my funeral is The Cocteau Twin's "Eperdu" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=...

You are saying analog has ALL the information? You do realize that tape is just magnetic particles put into a line and vinyl records are pits and grooves just like a CD... There is missing info there too. Also you say digital is just a representation of what the sound is.... All the mediums are rep...

You're not thinking of Clannad, are you? I'm afraid not, but thanks Garges! (this is lightandmind BTW) The closest thing I've found is about 30secs into the original Star Trek Theme: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hdjL8WXjlGI Only slower, more melodic & filled with the type of toms/percussion that ...

Awesome. That's not it, but I was about to look for them because I heard one of their songs on the Baraka soundtrack. What beautiful music! VERY close, but what I'm thinking of sounds less sorrowful, more liberating + upbeat, positive, and kind of retro sci-fi if that makes any sense? Thanks!

Help Me Find The Name of a '90's Foriegn Operatic Group

Desperately trying to track down the artist(s) responsible for an obscure song that I used to hear while at hold when I used to do call center work. It sounded a lot like The Cocteau Twins, only strikingly resembled the original Star Trek theme. Seemed almost foreign, like it was a variation of worl...

Can't get filedropper (the entire site, not just the download links), to open for some reason. Did a search for airchecks, found mostly radio station call letters, (which are unusable), but I might keep looking, thanks!
