Okay - so on messing around with the pedal for a couple days, I'm super happy with the way it sounds, but it doesn't really boost so much. It seems that the apparent loudness is lower when the pedal is engaged even with the fuzz and level dimed. With the fuzz - as you begin to bring it from off to f...

A reamp box is even easier if you leave out the volume and impedance controls, both of which I find to be necessary. Then you're basically left with this: http://www.diyrecordingequipment.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/line2amplayout1-300x285.gif So you're saying you wouldn't build one without the ...

Just do the best you can with the speakers you have. Reference it out to a few other stereos once you're done. It seems like if you don't have distortion when monitors on headphones, your source tracks are probably okay. classical music is all about dynamic range. It's hard to find a really great cl...

Successful first build - Tweak-O Pedal
So - after many years of fixing cables, rewiring guitars, repairing pickups and all that stuff, I finally got around to building something. I went with the easiest kit I could find to start with. I picked up a Tweak-O kit from Small Bear. I had such a fun time working on this, I honestly couldn't ha...

hey folks - I just thought I'd mention this company. They are situated in my tiny hometown of Sydney, Nova Scotia and make custom electronics enclosures, specializing in one offs and prototypes. Have done work for Apple, Microsoft, NASA, Intel, GE, GM to name a few. I'm not affiliated with the compa...

So I was reading this thread the other day and decided I'd try this out on a particularly difficult vocal I've been having a bit of trouble with and it ended up sounding super awesome. Love this messageboard, so many great ideas. Here's what I used: EV RE10 - Vintech x73 - Oram Sonicomp II (almost l...

Need help sourcing parts for Solder station
Hey Folks, I just broke a piece of a solder station I've been using and need to replace it, but I can't really find a place to buy parts. I figured you folks may know of an online store. The station has some identifying marks on it. JOHO 952D SMD Rework Soldering Station It also says that it is micr...
