yup, while I agree about the kick and snare and keeping them boosted, don't loose the toms. i've done one like this and had cymbals, kick and snare well blended but totally lost the toms, it was a bit of a bummer, trying to eq the toms in made for some pretty weird everything else.

Yeah good stuff.

When you folks are comping kick and bass together (or Guits and Snare) are you leaving the un-processed tracks up in the mix too. Are you EQing before you bus them together or are you EQing the sum?

Okay

So the numbers on the top of the op amp are

ne5534an
j64339k
jnrll4k

Phillips

One of those are blown. There seem to be 4 of them. 2 per channel I guess?

So, I'm getting around to getting the MP20 going again and was looking at purchasing a set of OPA627's to replace the blown (and other) stock op-amps. I'm pretty new to this (obviously) and searched here ( http://in.mouser.com/Search/Refine.aspx?Keyword=opa627 ) but there are a lot of different OPA6...

I think you want to make the best mix you can on the NS10s, and leave lots of room for the mastering engineer to do what they do. It's likely that as you get more tuned into the NS10s the ME will have to do less in terms of EQ. But if it's pretty minor, I'd say leave it as is. Maybe include that you...

Here's a video example of what (I think) MSE and Chris are talking about. If not, my apologies. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IiFOD1EeKhQ Do you figure that the mic that is wobbling around a few inches back and forth would sound somewhat bizarre/through off the phase relationship here? How does th...

Guitar - I did a bunch of fuzzy guitar tracks the other night as scratch tracks for an album that I'm working on. We were working in an apartment and had to keep the volume down, oddly we got a sound better than what I have ever gotten in a studio with an amp cranked. I found I could get a pile of d...

okay - got it figured.

Setup - Hardware -to the right of that menu is CH. 1-2 Input Source, this was the step I was missing. Had to change from analog to s/pdif, then delete and add the s/pdif inputs in the i/O - I guess I missed it when I was changing the clock source.

Thanks for your help folks.

I/O settings using Mbox 1 and Apogee Mini-Me via SPDIF w/ PT

So, although I think I've done this a million times before I can't seem to get my SPDIF ins showing up on in my I/O settings. My understanding is that you can't use both the analog ins on the Mbox 1 and the SPDIF ins at the same time. Although I can't see or get the inputs working in the I/O setting...

I put a bunch of thought into this topic a while ago and came up with some pretty simple answers that seem to work for me. 1) I don't like music/production where the instruments sound "better" when they're recorded and mixed than they do in real life. This obviously is subjective, but I think for th...
