Thanks!
Only downside is its a resource hog, but I would imagine it needs it to work the way it does.
Try the Narcissus reverb mode. It is considerably lighter on the CPU than the other reverb modes.

No 140 but mebbe the 250 is similar? See here . EMT140: physical steel plate. EMT250: 1st digital reverb, designed by Barry Blesser. Dense, with tons of modulation that won't show up in the impulse. There's a 244 set, here . Another digital reverb, but a fairly rare one. Thanks for the pointers! So...

my 13" macbook pro i5 also just came in. what I don't understand is that the first couple of times I've run test sessions to make sure all plugs are installed I've had that warning dialog box popup that says buffer under-run or whatever. I don't understand why a 2 track session with no plugs would ...

Back in October, I was looking for a new Windows machine to build and test plugins in Windows 7. After searching around for a few days, I ended up buying a Mac Mini. The reasons: - None of the PCs in the same price range had Firewire, and I needed Firewire for my audio interfaces and hard drives. - ...

I have been searching for EMT140 impulses as well, to no avail. I know that Nebula has an EMT140 impulse set, that supposedly sounds very nice. I tried to install the demo + 1 free impulse available for the set (with a 2 second decay), but couldn't get things working on my system. I'll try again. My...

thanks for the clarification... do you think that EOS can do a good job of EMT style vintage plate tones? The Eos plates were designed more as "digital" plates. In other words, I was going for a dense sound, with an exponential decay, and without much coloration. The dispersion in a real EMT plate ...

they may be designed totally different but they are being marketed in a very similar manner: EOS: "The incredibly long modulated hall sounds of Eno-style ambience are where Eos thrives" SHIMMER: "the classic ?shimmer? sound is produced, as heard on Eno / Lanois productions" See, we are talking abou...

seems kind of a lot like http://www.audiodamage.com/effects/product.php?pid=AD023 (minus the nice GUI) Both algorithms were written by Sean Costello (or maybe you knew that and the subtle humour flew over my head  ). From my point of view, the algorithms are totally different. Eos is more of ...
