Hey all. I noticed you signed yours Joel, out of 50+ responses you being the only one who did. Great response though thorough and honest, it was one of the better replies in fact. In hindsight it is quite helpful you did sign it so I can personally say cheers. Cheers As for vague, yeah it is quite b...

Recording Artist Questionnaire
Sorry, not a spambot but I am sure that is what a spambot would say. I have made a quick 4 question survey to gather a little information on a few things for my business plan, if you get a second to fill this in it will take minutes and I would be eternally grateful. http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/NR...

Best option is to spend a few weeks physically going in to studios knowing the names and passed projects of people and showing off some knowledge subtley but face to face. People love it when you know information about them and their business. Call ahead of time and make sure they will be there, or ...

There is definitely something to be said for creating a little niche market for yourself, duly noted. Maybe I should aim to specialise in a few types of music/aesthetics and age groups. I certainly don't want to be recording anyone younger than myself unless they are talented. I haven't got a proble...

Strong words there Leigh, but I have to agree, phrased more politely :D This goes in to the same category as crystal healing and astrology for me. However, my old lecturer is a neuroscientist and we both feel frequencies CAN affect the brain and its chemistry. To what extent, I am not entirely sure,...

good post subs. Oh shit, somehow I missed your post inbetween mine and subs. Great ideas there MoreSpaceEcho. Trying to find THAT band will be hard, although there is a LOT of talent around here. I think I might aim towards acoustic music at first, get myself a little niche going, and go from there.

subatomic pieces. thats some great thoughts there. I very much want to be part of each and every band/artist during their stay, charging a fair amount for experimentation time, my prices will encourage people to coem and spend time experimenting and really getting things how they want, of course I w...

^^Oddly enough I do quite a lot of mixing on a basic mono speaker. You just get a great idea of how things should sound, if you make a great mono mix, the stereo mix is only going to be better. Panning whilst listening in mono is one of my favourite things to do. @niccolo gallio, OK I was just confi...

Putting myself in the shoes of a band, now that may seem obvious but I hadn't even considered that. I plan on going to live venues alot, being as active in the local music "scene" as I can be. Handing out business cards, talking to people, putting up posters/business cards in local shops, maybe even...
