These look great.
Not clear though, does the box take 500 series stuff? You said it was old so I'm guessing not. If not, what else can go into the rack?
Thanks
Alex

Tascam D88 Mixdown Help
I have a friend with a Sony Hi-8 tape he recorded on a Tascam DA-88. He's trying to release a retrospective of his work, and needs someone to transfer this information to WAVs, so he can mix it and send it to mastering. This is the last song he needs to finish and has no access to a D-88 or anything...

Guitars Stolen From Mitch Easter
Hello everyone. Please keep your eyes peeled for the following guitars. Like a lot of us, Mitch has been picking up great guitars along the way. The Fender XII has been his since he was a kid. Please pass this list around to anyone you know. 1. G&L L-2000 bass, natural, 1980-1 version (Fender headst...

Joe, inquiring again, have you read up on the Glyn Johns method for drums? I think at least understanding that is absolutely key for what you're doing. Also, if you can track down a copy of Recording The Beatles by Brian Kehew you will not be sorry. I think you have to order it from the writers, but...

Fewer tracks, not a lot of close mic'ing and different gear in the 60's More tracks, close mic'ing in the 70's What are your favorite songs, specifically? I probably say this every other post, but base your drum mic'ing off of the Glyn Johns method and add to that. Actually don't add a lot. The secr...

Another vote for the RE20. The differences between it and a real tape machine are pretty much imperceivable in a live setting. Works wonderfully. Smaller than the Line 6 and works better all the way around, unless you need the looper on the DL4. You get the bonus of reverb as well. Doesn't use 18v, ...

I may have missed something here, but what are you doing with the rest of the kit? If you like that big, FLips/Bonham sound, I think other mics come into the equation, as our room mic suggester, um, suggested. I would guess using fewer mics, getting them further off of the drums, and paying attentio...

Also, I'm thinking the Green Bullet might need to make an appearance. I have 2 Cascade 731r's at my disposal. My Fat Head has a blown ribbon. Other old/ish mics: 2 635a's An old EV lav mic from the 60's that's about the size of a 635a Plus all of the usual modern things - SM7, 57's, 414, MK012's, PZ...

Gettin' "Old Timey"
I have a small, one room studio that I'm making decent records out of. It's a great workspace. Usually I'm pushing to get the best sound I can out of what I've got, and little by little I'm making improvements, finding sweet spots, etc. I've had a request to go in the other direction. Not to do some...
