thankfully i haven't had to deal with any 192 mix requests. we did one tracking session at 192 for a japanese label with a freelance engineer. 192 really bums me out. and i'm into striving for higher quality. it just bums me out since it's basically a catchy marketing catch phrase... IMO a label ask...

I think the per song thing is in mot cases a highly flawed concept. it's nearly impossible to get it right, and in almost every situation, either you are working too hard for the fee, or the client is paying too much for the mix... a piano trio record with 9 mics is a very different mix than an elec...

two dimed plexi half stacks definitely put the nail in the coffin for two of our m160's... but they were probably close to needing a reribboning anyway at that point. shug shug chuchuchuchug shugshaaaaaaaa can throw some blasts of air.
