FS: Alesis HD24XR recorder + Roland M240r Mixer - $900

Here is what I'm selling for $900 plus actual shipping costs... Alesis HD24XR - 24 track recorder On this device, pretty much everything works as expected, and I have recorded parts of albums on this machine. The only issue is that only 1 of the 2 drive bays seems to successfully mount hard d...

Can you solder? The best solution that I have ever heard for headphone extenders is to simply build a 1/4" TRS male to XLR female and 1/4" TRS female to XLR male jumper set for each headphone send that you need. By doing so you can simply use any mic cable as a headphone extension cable. Once my cu...

How to record samples of an organ/keyboard?

I did a search for this, but couldn't find anything. I've got a band that plans to bring in some sort of organ for me to record samples of each key being played. I'm not exactly sure what kind it is, but I assume it's a weird air organ, or farfisa type of thing. I'm almost positive they're not bring...

So I bought Tape-Head in '08 and loved it. I JUST FOUND OUT that DTM even existed. And when I went to massey's site full of giddy excitement, I found out he's not offering it anymore. Does anybody know when he took it down? Or if there's even a slight chance of it being offered again. Seriously con...

No.

Whether or not it is the best combo will depend on the source.

Meryll - "Rimziate" - tape & DW Fearn

Hey everyone -- My band just released our 3rd album today, and there are a few reasons I am especially excited about it.. A) our first time to record on 2" B) our first time on vinyl C) Jason Martin, from one of my favorite bands Starflyer 59, engineered the album with me I did a little nerdy gear w...

Making a studio better!

What improvements have you made in your studio lately that left you wondering, "Why didn't I do this years ago!?" I want more ideas from you guys! I'll start... A) Moved the noisy computer/Pro Tools rig/hard drives/console power supply into the next room (The control room is freakishly quiet now!) B...

You should NOT have to pay $675 for 250 one-color jackets. This is what my band recently used:

great suggestions all over so far, my band's done this as well - only thing to add is maybe try modifying the output of the keyboard/drum machine to separate the kick/snare by panning them L/R (unless there's weird fill stuff) so you have a little more control in mixdown. then you can reamp/blend w...

About 6 years ago, I submitted some correct song-titles for one of my favorite band's albums. It had nothing to do with credits, and it was updated a week or so later. Over the past 2 years, they have NEVER edited the corrections I have submitted to them. My name is clearly listed in releases on Ryk...

I just released an album that has about 15 minutes of audio at the end of it that I took from one of my family's home-videos. The footage is from 1991, and it documents our family getting new carpet put in to us kids' new bedrooms. My mom talks on it the whole way through, I am about 7, and my young...

EMT 140 repair?

Has anyone ever worked on an EMT 140? Output #1 is not working on ours, and I've tried swapping out all 3 of the tubes from one channel to the other, but with no luck. The tubes seem fine as nothing seems to change. I wanted to open the thing up to see if the connection on the pickup has come loose ...

Advertising the exact location of your studio?

What do you guys think about revealing the exact address of your studio? It seems to me that I wouldn't want that information posted on the my studio's website, but I have noticed that some do.

Thoughts?
