Soundtracs Topaz 32 channel desk, Restored, incredibly clean
Soundtracs Topaz Project 8 Recording Console 1997 build This is one of the later versions so it will have all revisions and updates, also has the more pleasing red white and blue color scheme instead of the old Miami Vice themed one. When I got this desk it was a bit dusty so I disassembled it compl...

Univesal Audio 1008 preamp questions
Anyone have experience working with these?
I have a few documents and schematics but I would love to talk with someone who's spent some time with them.
Any info greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Both of my Soundtracs consoles are moving out this month, get one while you can. Both are plug and play - ready to rock. Pick a size - medium or large? http://www.ebay.com/itm/251799096776?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 http://www.ebay.com/itm/251799096553?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX...

t is with a heavy heart that I must bid farewell to my Big Boy recording console. If you or anyone you know dabbles in the recording arts and sciences, please pass the word along. No, sorry for the confusion, I DO use all 36 channels, that's why I love the thing. As for the AI3s, no, not great converters, but pretty economical with this high a track count. For those still watching, I decided to downgrade the Mac to 10.6.8 and stay there. 10.9 was a stretch for this old MacBoo...

Re: downgrading
Pretty simple setup really Console to Alesis AI3 to Lightbridge to Mac This is a relatively old MacBook I do realize that an erase and install would fix it but I was just curious if there was anyone else having the same. issue. Since the OP has been exceptionally vague on pertinent details of their ...

Yes I tried it, it's very unhappy Hmm that sucks. Well hopefully at least a couple years before I'm forced ...

Mavericks killed my Profire Lightbridge - now what do I use?
My system is built around my Lightbridge which pipes 32 channels of ADAT back and forth to my converters.
It looks like Mavericks isn't supported by Avid for this device, which is understandable considering it's age.
Unfortunately I've never seen any device similar to it.
Any suggestions?
