I will second the Gillian Welch and Nick Drake suggestions.
Also I like Patty Griffin. Kinda folky.
The" O Brother, Where Art Thou?" and "Cold Mountain" soundtracks are both excellent.

Re: has anyone seen "That One Guy"
Did he play his boot and his saw when you saw him? Those were also badass moments in the show. To call him flat awesome doesn't even do it justice. That was easily the most incredible thing I have ever seen. Everyone must check this guy out and prepare to have your asses blown out.

has anyone seen "That One Guy"
I just saw him tonight. "That One Guy" is his performing name for anyone confused by that. That is the most absolutely insane shit I have ever seen. He invented his own instrument out of lead pipes and effectively made a one-man-band for himself. He played lead guitar, bass, drums, percussion all at...

Re: Neve 9098 pres
That was my bad Sonikbliss. I didn't specify at first that I was just talking about the pres. I went back and edited the subject line after I read your post. So your post was right on for what I originally asked.

Yeah, that too. I've heard it called both. Couldn't remember the other. Either way, it's some crazy shit. Ugly as sin too.

Re: i saw Bela Fleck and the Flecktones tonight
I wasn't aware they were brothers, but anyway, that would be Futureman. And hell yes, they are all fucking monsters. They are all among the best players of their respective instuments prolly in the world and they formed a band. I'd say that's usually a good thing, although some of it is just very te...

i saw Bela Fleck and the Flecktones tonight
That is a band with just way too much talent. They had this dude playing ukelele that kinda blew me away. I never knew it was possible for the uke to be played like that. They had a theremin player too. That was kinda cool at times. Also, Bela and Victor Wooten are decent players. Anyway it was a go...

I like how it's on a loop too so it keeps playin over and over. Gets funnier every time it plays. At least the first 10 or 20 times anyway.

That is quite funny. Almost as good as that Daily Show Creed segment from that other thread.

The Darkness and Andrew WK. Gawdamn I hate those two bands. Also I'm surprised no one has mentioned John Mayer yet, so I figure I better list him too.

Re: PJ Harvey on Letterman I think
I just finished watching that. Bill Murray is one goofy son-of-a-bitch. He was pretty funny as always. PJ Harvey was pretty cool too.
