I think people overlook how unique Ringo's role as the Beatles drummer was. So many songs had unconventional drum parts that came in and out, had just a hi-hat here or there, etc. The musicality of his drumming, the way he reinforced the songwriters. He did one hell of a great job. I would not want ...

I use a backup program called Data Backup and I found that I am able to incrementally back up my HD clone drive, and it is still bootable. At first I thought that I would have to back up the whole deal every time to get a bootable backup, but happily with Data Backup (and others, I'm sure) that is n...

Re: pro tools users: sorry
god love ya. its really not your fault, but if you want to be compatible with PROFESSIONAL software like DP, logic, final cut and avid, you'll need to shell out an additional 500 bucks for digitranslator (or start demanding a better product for your money). Asinine. I don't care what DAW anyone use...

I hate to be the big downer, but I just can't be into someone complaining about people not wanting to do stuff for free. Chris Garges Charlotte, NC I understand that. Time is money, these people are honing their talents in the hope that they may make a living at it, and their efforts have value. Co...

I listened to a few tracks, and the stuff so totally sounds like a RECORD to me. Don't redo anything. It sounds old-school in the good way. Done with conviction. I remember less cynical times in the rock world when you could sense a level of commitment in the work. A human can grab unto your stuff h...

Thanks for the replies. I'm talking about moving things just a bit. I could indeed just drag and select everything that is to the right. I would be in slip mode. I guess I could select it all and nudge. I swear there was a way to hit a modifier key and double click something or whatever, that would ...

Quick Pro Tools question
Hey guys- I double swear I tried looking this up in the manual. I once knew how to select all of the "following" segments in a track. That is, all of the segments in the track for the rest of the song. Say I want to nudge everything that is too the right sooner in time. Say I want a fill to crash a ...

One thing to note, that besides the writing and research and such, which make the book essential reading, the thing is just so well done. The package, the layout, the extras... Profound and thoughtfully executed, so as to rise to the level of the book's subject. The Fab Four deserve nothing less. Ev...
