I wonder if you could use some 90? pvc pipe to reinforce the angle? If the mic fit into the pipe it'd be alot easier to tape down. Or maybe you could even find some large heavy-duty heat shrink to hold it all together...

The possibilities are endles, but FWIW, here's the ways I like to record my rhodes (Suitcase 73): 1 - Preamp outs (stereo, on the side of the cab) --> 2 DI's --> mic pre This gives a real, mellow, solid sound. It's what you imagine when you think 'rhodes'. I record it in stereo because of the tremel...

Here's one:

Try using those dessicant (sp?) crystals that come in the dehydrating packs -- don't eat them! -- they make a higher pitched, defined shaker sound that cuts, if you're into that kind of thing...

Hey Jeff, I used a lot of ambisonics when I was studying composition at the UW...we used it mostly for synthesing sounds and placing them in space, but I also did a lot of recording with the Soundfield V ambisonic micropone... The coolest thing about ambisonics is that you can record the un-decoded ...

That's funny -- I was just talking to the guys at London Bridge here in Seattle -- saying that the only place I had ever seen NS-40's was there, even in pictures... (if anyone wants to see pictures go to http://www.londonbridgestudio.com/ ) They may go for more on somewhere like eBay because of thei...

I'd do two things: when tracking, I'd send one mic throught the Distressor, probablly nuked and distorted, but it doesn't have to be. Then on mixdown, I'd use the distressor as a bus compressor and send some kick, snare and maybe a little of each overhead to it, then blend it underneath the other tr...

Is the fold in one small spot or does it run for a few feet? You could try reinforcing the wrinkled spot with some splicing tape -- I've heard that spliced tape is stronger than tape alone...Good luck!

FS: AT 4033's and RODE NT-1's

Hi, I was looking to trade, but these mics are now for sale: 2 x Rode NT1's -- $100 each. These are the original NT1's not the NT1A's. I've heard that these are less bright than the newer ones. 2 x Audio Technica 4033's -- $200 each. These include foam case and shockmount. I've replaced the elastic ...
