One thing you may want to consider. Jerry Garcia had a buffer w/ an effects loop wired into his guitar so he could control the effects mix via a volume control on his guitar. I stumbled upon this on a thread on thegearpage.net, & there were links to other sites w/ more specific info.

I've got a worm also, & although the wah feature is one of my favorite effects, when I use it w/ my guitar, even if it's the first effect in the chain, it's prone to clipping (not the pleasant kind either). Maybe there's something wrong w/ it; it's the only one I've tried so I can't be sure. However...

I spent a lot of time online researching this. The first question is what's your budget? A 'good' leslie simulator is pretty pricey, univibe clones (except the Dunlop) start around $250 & go up the around $400 for the VoceII. The second question is digital or analog. The third question is do you wan...

I never "studied" the Dead's system, but picked up a few things while at shows. They would get the plans for the arena/hall/amplitheater/stadium to figure how big of a pa they would need, both wattage & number of speakers. Once they arrived at the hall they would run pink noise tests to determine th...

I can't believe no one's mentioned Ben Harper yet. Had to get lap slides custom made cause the feedback (intentional) kept busting loose braces in his weissenborns. Does a mean Voodoo Chile, I actually think it's closer to Hendrix then SRV's version. He'll sometimes play w/ one foot on the volume pe...

howdy If the problem is that you're getting +4 from the board but your DAW wants -10, then do yourself a favor & get a level matching device of some kind. Passive or active, either way it'll probably save yourself some headaches. I've had this level-matching problem before, and even when it's meteri...

Oops After looking at the PAIA unit again, it only has an effect output. If I read it correctly, wet only w/ no dry signal at all. So I would have to build a circuit that taps the original signal pre reverb, & then mixes it w/ the effect output from the reverb. Is that correct? Any ideas on how this...

Thank everyone for the replies. I've been at work & periodically checking replies, and now I'm able to reply. The main reason for wanting this is to use w/ my '69 Fender Princeton. The amp was cheap (got lucky), & w/ a recap & new weber vst speaker it sounds awesome. If I'm able to use it for someth...

hammond tube reverb as effect
Howdy I've been researching an analog spring reverb (not a digital recreation of a spring reverb) to put in front of my princeton reverb. Unfortunately, it seems the more highly reguarded units are out of my price range at the moment. However, I've noticed there seems to be a lot of tube reverb unit...
