There's a company via ebay called westcoastresale that i just purchased a new tire and belt from. Quite inexpensive.
I've got pdf's of both tsr8 manuals, but I'm having a hard time finding any information on lubrication. I've got it working, its just very creaky!

Impedance Matching Tascam 238
Hello,
I've got a tascam 238 coming my way. I'll be using an Allen and Heath mixwiz16...mainly the aux sends and a couple direct outs to feed the tape machine. Does anyone have any experience with the 238 regarding matching input/output impedance? They are -10dbv.
Thanks
K

Thanks, any instructions out there about lubricating these things? I've got new belts and tires but it's making a creaking sound.

Tascam TSR-8 pinch roller, Tascam 238 Tape Head Cleaner
Howdy folks, Dusting off my old Tascam TSR-8 for a fun project coming up and I'm a bit rusty with this stuff, so I need a little advice. 1. the "tire" on my TSR-8 pinch roller has turned to gum...almost a jelly bean like texture, very gross and definitely not useable. Clicking and Popping in audio signal
Firstly....I have read this article Kill Studio Hum and Buzz at the Source and will be taking some steps suggested here. I suppose I'd like to know if anyone else has had this issue. I've got my gear set up in the basement. I noticed, when using some DI's that there was a very audible clicking sound...

FS: Lynx Aurora 8 Lt-FW
Selling my Lynx Aurora 8 LT-FW A/D Audio Converter Digital Interface These firewire versions are discontinued as of 2/2013, so they're getting hard to find. A couple years old. Perfect condition, just a few scratches here and there. This thing has been babied and loved in my studio. Anyone reading t...

Well, I took them all apart again and went out a bought a wire stripper. I had been using just a small wire cutter. I suppose my wire stripping skills with that tool suck because using the wire stripper resulted in non-buzzing wires. Not sure what I was doing wrong before, but I think I've got it do...

DIY XLR Cable Buzzing
Recently picked up some mogami, redco and canare xlr cable and neurtik connectors for xlr cables. There is a a wealth of diy xlr cable instruction on the web, so I watched a number of videos, etc. Seeming to follow the instructions, I built a few cables. I'm comparing these new cables to premade cab...

Thanks for your replies, with my current setup, I have analog outs 1 and 2 of the Lynx going into the board (channels 15 and 16). That's how I listen to what my DAW is producing. I think my in the box eqs and compressors are better than any outboard I have now, otherwise, I could send more tracks ba...

Recording without a Console?
Hello Everyone, I?ve got some thoughts to share with anyone who?s interested. I record at home with an Allen and Heath mixwiz and Aurora 8. It?s a modest setup, but it sounds pretty good and I?m happy with it. However, I?ve been toying with the idea of bypassing the console and recording straight in...

Zoom R16 Impedance
Zoom R16 Impedance This impedance talk confuses me, but I'm trying to get through it. I just acquired a Zoom R16 for fun/mobile recording, etc. I'm looking to record my weekly gig which runs out of an Allen and Heath Mixwiz 16. I also have this very same board at home. At my place, I take direct out...
