i suggest you to buy a interface with good drivres,stable and ultralow latencies with digital connections.you can find new or used one from 250 $.then pick up a nice 2 ch converter fromthe top companies like mytek,prism,lynx etc...

what's the main reason you want to do this??do you want to use external equipment you have or you like..the feel and the control of an analogue system>>??have you consider to try a multitouch screen (works on windows 7) next to you and control everything..in a very creatful way?

you can check maudio profire lightpipe (firewire interface with 4 adats ins and 4 adat outs) or rme products .rme products are more stable with more...choises.you can combine many pci or pci express cards in the same computer from any hdsp product.

i'd suggest a interface with very good ,low latency and stable drivers at first like rme pci or pci express adat - madi- aes ebu cards.then you can check mytek,lynx,ssl (madi) or buy a used alesis hd 24 xr and send it to jim williams to modificate it.excellent solution.some combinations of the above...
