Are you talking about the fca16 by behringer? I bought one of these for the purpose of light piping a hd24xr to the computer via usb. I do at times use the behringer for tracking as a quick grab and go rig. FWIW its does just fine. No problems and I wouldnt kick anything it has tracked out of bed......

Lewitt 840

Not much talk about these so ill ask for opinions.

I have one on trial but my experience is with ribbons.... so, I have no reference to determine how the 840 would compare to others in the condenser world.

Thanks

Yes..more barn :rockin: Still not much time after 40 hrs of job and farming 1400 acres on weekends. We are shooting for at least 1 day per month. Pretty sad huh....... Got about 20 4x8 sheets of 705 and 50 or so 2*4 pieces of 703 and a huge roll of burlap. Due to my 1rst statement, nothing has been ...

It is a big difference. The 77 is a dark mic. I assume the lower impedance brought forward the mids and highs. With the GA - I feel like I don't need any eq. I need the opposite of this with an overly bright 44a. (I borrowed the 8mx2 so I cant readily try it with the 44) BTW vvv= the mxl144 is a pre...

Am I correct to think that with an increase in the preamp input impedance (for a rca44a type mic) the output will become darker - less bright- more lows? Another idea is try the AEA TRP (18k input)....would this pre darken the tone of said mic as compared to my 1.2k pre? (I want to increase the low ...

Dumb rookie question......

I want to increase the input impedance for a couple of old ribbon mics.

You say that you can only decrease - but can you use a transformer such as a Dukane 3a25 in its own box between the mic and the pre to step it up?
