What mics were used on Bob Dylan's 1961 S/T recording?
I found a few photos from Bob Dylan's 1961 recording session for his S/T album. One photos shows what appears to be a Neumann U67 for vocals/harp, but the guitar microphone is obscured: http://cache2.asset-cache.net/gc/74269191-bob-dylan-recording-his-first-album-bob-dylan-gettyimages.jpg?v=1&c=IWSA...

what accounting software are you freelancers using?
I'm not a "money guy" so finding good and easy accounting software is always a challenge for me. I've used Quickbooks before (way more than what I need) and I'm currently using Billings, which is just ok. I've been thinking about switching to something else, but I'm not sure what's best for me. What...

Blue Microphones...
If price was no issue, which Blue Mics would you pick to add to your arsenal and why?
Any you would look to pair?
Pick as many as you like, but don't go overboard.

What board, and be 100% sure that the connections on the board you are using are balanced. They specifically aren't balanced. It is a single stereo XLR connection, so there is no hot/cold/ground - but left/right/ground. Do you get a buz if you leave the cables connected to the amps but not the boar...

i agree with drumsound. i think that sound is a result of over-compressing the mix or loop as a whole, causing the compressor to pull back more when the high-energy kick hits. my assumption has always been that it's careless or accidental in origins, but slowing making it's way intentionally into th...

bizarre board/amp issue.
So, the studio I work in has re-racked most of the outboard gear. It's hooked up in mostly the same fashion, with a few changes (and new racks obviously). The problem arises when we plug the amps back into the control room outs of the board. Suddenly there's a WICKED buzz going on. the obvious cause...

Tends in engineering/mixing tend to follow trends in listening habbits. That is to say, engineers more and more mix to fit the way the masses will hear it. In the 90s, that was the "loudness war." when radio stations started cranking up the volume and over-compressing and limiting - mix and masterin...

1. in DP4, you should be able to asign your tracks or sends to STEREO busses (ie "bus 9/10"). Your aux input should be set to the same. If you don't see any stereo busses from the list, you'll have to choose "add new stereo bus" from the drop-down menu you find when you select input/output/sends in ...
