As an aside, the free app/service "dropbox" or "evernote" are quite handy for storing important docs that you may need access from anywhere.

I just wanted to second how useful these are. They rose to (almost) legendary status at one point. In any case, a great speaker to test the "small speaker" sound.

Echoing others' sentiments, yes the cabinet makes a huge difference. IMO you shouldn't try to categorize them by sheer volume. Each cabinet will have a very different tone based on not just the speakers and how many, but the air cavity, closed back vs open, even the glue in the surround of the speak...

If you like the sound, do it. That having been said, it's important to understand what is happening in regards to impedance, gain staging, etc. I know of some very successful recordings that were passed through neve 1066's on the stereo bus as "glue", and they did the trick. lots of good throughts here... but what about my ADL 1000 - it's a tube opto compressor/limiter. well - what is it? it's a fixed ratio - all you can adjust is the input and gain reduction. so is it limiting? or opto mode on a distressor is 10:1 - is that limiting? it's a really slow attack and fast...
