Mics for toms?
We've been using SENNHEISER e604 mics to mic up toms for a few years. Now, we don't have access to those mics anymore. We are thinking about buying a set of our own, but just wanted to make sure there wasn't something better for around the same price? Anyone had experience with any of the others aro...

Re: headphones for recording drums in the same rooom.
The sennheiser hd 280 pro headphones($99) are a really good deal in my opinion. They really reduce the outside noise during drum tracking. They do sound a little midrangey to me, but it's not that bad. We actually bought a second pair so i can hear exactly what the drummer is hearing. They work for ...

mogami cable
Which type is the best? We are about to Mogamize our whole studio. We have some Mogami W2549 w/Neutrik Connectors. Is this the best Mogami or is there a better type?

Re: micing the guitar cab
thanks guys. we've been using a 57 up close and an AKGC4000 for the room. maybe we'll try the senn md421.
oh and we already have that ebay mic. we use it exclusively for really important vocal passages. we don't wanna put too many miles on that one.

Re: #@!$ing Snare!
shitty snare try a different one. we were having a bitch of a time tuning and retuning my drummer's snare and still couldn't get anything worth keeping. then we tried another drum and- viola, there was the sound we looked for for 2 days. if you have different snares at your disposal, try them all o...

it's 1/4"-my fault. Fostex R8 is the model... it's not a cassette deck style.
