If MoreSpaceEcho can do it for you, I would recommend him or anyone he recommends to you, in a heartbeat. Another good possibility that I might suggest, is George Blood Audio in Philadelphia. He has done some archival transfers for me (not of 8-track but other formats). He is kind of a little on the...

With some of that extra mad money, you could get the Michael Joly mod done for your Rode NTK, and possibly make a GREAT mic out of a good one....he did the mod on my garden variety Rode NT2, changed the capsule and some of the wiring, and it made a world of difference in the sound.

I heard about this on their tour blog. I think this was because he had a couple of days of down time because of Roger Daltrey's throat trouble. I will say this, I get the feeling that Pete is probably deaf as a fence post these days, you can tell when he sings on stage -- he's basically just monoton...

FA: Rode NT2 with MICHAEL JOLY MOD!

I am reluctantly selling my Michael Joly-modded Rode NT2.

I had it modded by Michael Joly in summer of 2010. These very seldom come up for sale used. Check it out! Thanks.

The reverb smeared all over the ZZ Top Six Pack is just abysmal. ZZ Top albums were meant to be flat, hot, and excruciatingly dry -- just like the desert.

Re: what happened to the Kinks when recording?

Have always been curious as to why a large part of the Kinks recordings sound so ....undynamic? flat? While a fan of the Beatles, i find myself enjoying and listening to the underappreciated Kinks much more often. Granted, Kronicles sounds like it was put together with one fader up and the rest in ...

Thanks for the helpful advice. I did say it and it got deleted by the moderators. But thanks for giving me the advice, anyway.

Yeah Simms, I saw that you were listed on the Bee Wear Apparel "Featured Artist" page, and then you were here on TOMB with a review raving about how great their new Bee Wear fall line was going to be...I couldn't tell if you were raving about it because they are giving the stuff to you for free or a...

I'll never forget the first time I ever went into Rogue music. I get out the elevator and walk in, and there in the middle of the room is an Emulator, one or two of those little Moogs, and some various other rack-type gear, all with a bunch of heavy-duty looking battered black road cases piled up ar...

I dunno man, I saw him last year at the Jazz Festival in New Orleans, basically he was headlining and in a race against a thunderstorm that was moving in...you could see lightning flashing in the distance and thunderclouds rolling through...the show got spookier and spookier as it went on...didn't c...

I haven't heard it in a long long while, but I'm pretty sure that in that bootleg of Led Zeppelin rehearsing "Black Dog" for the first time in the studio, they are like, humming the riff over and over to each other, not talking about it in precise musicological terms. I could be wrong though, but th...
