That search on Endino's site is great. Cool tip.

Yeah. Wright Bros. - Last time I was there they were a little late getting my wheel done, so they gave me beer to sip while I hung out. Try getting THAT kind of service at Performance Bike, which is sort of the Guitar Center of bicycles...

For what it's worth, Condor did a bang-up job getting my old Tascam 388 back in shape. I've used them for some other misc. repairs and gotten the same great results. (and Wright Bros cycles is right nearby if you're into cool old-school bike shops. Sorry. A little OT, but I'm SO happy with my new ha...

Chills. I've loved her since I first heard her. Years ago I was listening to PJ Harvey when I very nearly drove into a herd of elk that bounded up onto a lonely Colorado road. One of those perfect indelible moments. There's a certain dark shade of mood that only she can bring out. Sometimes I like t...

Sometimes I use my 388 as a giant mic pre into my little pro tools setup. Sounds ok with some things - usually a 57 on a guitar cab. Sure is big though....

I've had the white noise blast happen occasionally too. TOTALLY random. Never noticed any lasting ill effects other than that it seems to like to happen during something relatively quiet and scares the shit out of me. Never makes it onto a track so I think it's on the output side of things. Similar ...

Got an email from Victor this morning saying that paypal had only processed those refunds on page one of his two page list of buyers, at that point. Then I checked paypal and it showed a reversal for the full amount! THANKS VICTOR! I'm so sorry it didn't work out.

is it wrong to feel somehow 'lucky' to myself? No, and I wish I was enjoying this little drama from the sidelines myself. I jumped in at the last minute knowing it was risky but letting my greed for a deal get the best of me. Lesson learned. I certainly don't hold Tape Op responsible - this was all...

I thought those English gentlemen went for foxes... I like the look. Cool bricks. Aiming your sound source at the closet will make a difference, certainly, but whether it's gonna be better or worse - you'll just have to experiment. Looks like the only place you've got room for any sort of treatment ...

If you're a Pixies fan, like I am, just think for a second how fresh they made their thing sound, by doing something new with song structure, lyrics, the occasional 'wrong' chord, and just playing their asses off. And avoiding constant bars of 4....and keeping it fun... I saw Deerhoof live for the ...

Seems to be sort of normal for a 388. Unless they're WAY off, I wouldn't sweat it. Just learn to compensate.

Here's a thread that talks about that very issue.

Need a flight case for a JCM800 (seattle)

Judging from the responses on craigslist (nada, zilch) this might be a long shot but I'm looking to buy, rent, or borrow a flight case to hold my Marshall JCM 800 head for a plane ride the first week of August. I'm getting flown out to New Mexico to do a peace benefit show and picking up a new one j...
