I bought the HR824's the day they were available for preorder, and waited 6 months for Mackie to actually make them. I don't think AKG has made an interesting mic in over a decade. The AKG's I do use are all old. The original 451's kick butt, even if the capsule crap out fairly easy. The original D12 is a great mic. I count the days until I find the deal of the century on a C12.

I'm using the SSL FX384 compressor on my final mix and loving it. I occasionally buss all the drums and drums FX to a stereo bus in protools and use the focusrite compressor before dumping them in the main mix bus.

The last iteration was kinda slow, but my mac made the posts all BIG AND OBNOXIOUS. I love this new board. How do people allready have more posts than there are combined messages?

Is this $200 pile'o'plugs worth a darn? Any specific plugs that you like from this collection? I'm awfully curious, but not willing to pony up the cash until I hear more about them from a user's experience.
