Re: List your Bandcamp page
Our soul band, The Angels of Libra, have only put out three albums in one year: Nathan Johnston & the Angels of Libra Revelations Maiiah & the Angels of Libra All available on vinyl, which I'm very happy about. https://angelsoflibra.bandcamp.com The bass player is the same guy from my other band, Th...

Re: What is this heavy Gold Star Studios Glockenspiel sound?
I have only stock sounds installed in Logic (including all producer packs and legacy sounds), and there's four different presets when I search the presets drawer: Orchestra Tubular Bells (in /Legacy/Jam Pack Symphony Orchestra/Tuned Percussion). Dry, no modulation at all. Two aux sends to a wooden R...

Re: Dusting off the Tascam 388
Just trying to get up and running again with recording. Haven't really stopped, but it's just been on and off with no completed songs in quite a while. I just quickly whipped this song up and recorded it on the 388. Sounds decent thruogh good headphones/buds but not that great on my crappy little b...

Re: Fateful recording
I find that getting stoned occasionally results in interesting ideas and a near-total inability to actually realise them. A, my timing goes to shit when playing, and B, any work that needs to be done patching up stuff, setting up tracks in the DAW, etc. becomes an excruciating chore. Sober — or with...

Re: Active Noise Canceling Headphones for the Plane?
A sound tech acquaintance offered me his Valco VMK20 for a quick test. I found them surprisingly good. They're pretty cheap, and actually sound better with the noise cancelling switched on. Wired or Bluetooth operation.

Re: Native Instruments gets Plugin Alliance, Brainworx and Izotope
So, basically just a rebranding of the Soundwide alliance under the best-known name, and — mid-term — integration of all those products into the download/update management application that sucks the least across all of the included brands. I wonder if that means that Plug Alliance plugins will event...

Re: Could Forums Like This Make a Comeback?
Facebook groups suck. Search is shit (the concept is to keep people interacting, not to provide a resource), and visibility depends upon algorithms.
MUCH prefer forums. But I'm old.

Re: List your Bandcamp page
If you dig the Drawbars, you may appreciate another project I'm in with the bass player, David Nesselhauf, and the producer who engineered The Drawbars' album, Dennis Rux. It's called "The Angels of Libra". Dennis' initial idea was to recruit a collective of studio musicians that he could offer as r...

Re: List your Bandcamp page
It's still a little surreal that a guy on the other side of the world tells you he really digs stuff you've made and has already bought your singles. Thank you!markjazzbassist wrote: ↑Thu Mar 16, 2023 7:23 amyeah i've already got both 7" man, i'm a big soul-jazz fan, so your stuff is much appreciated

Aw, thanks, guys. We've also released two super-limited 7" singles via Burning Sole (a third is on the way). If they're sold out on BC, there might still be some available via Discogs... https://burningsolerecords.bandcamp.com/album/challenger https://burningsolerecords.bandcamp.com/album/th...

It all started going downhill when we went to stereo.
