Wow, being a long time reader and occasional lurker on this board it astounds me that you people manage to get so off track. When was the last time you actually did something creative? I'm not talking about coming up with a zingy little comeback on the internerd. Really, why does this stuff have to ...

Re: Need short run duplication... 200-300 cardboard sleeves?
Have any of you tried print shops or wholesale paper supliers? I've done two projects with cardboard sleaves and have yet to find a better deal than through a paper supplier. Shop around in your town. There are hundreds of styles and colors of cardstock, many of them made out of recycled paper. Just...

Re: College and Community Radio Stations
cjsw 90.9 FM in Calgary, Alberta is great. Funding drives being one of the ways to guage the impact of campus/community radio, cjsw out does stations in cities twice its size.
There is also a stream that works most of the time: www.cjsw.com

Re: Asbestos in the studio- a fun time
Alex is right. However, a rumbling bass cab could be considered fucking with it. Use your discresion. There are more urban myths about asbestos than there are men with hooks for hands. From what I've been told there is only asbestos in the insulating material at the joints. So, if all you are dealin...

Re: A minor moral dilemma
There are some great things being said in this thread, however, the patriotic undertone of a few of the posts is a bit callow. A couple of thoughts: Loss of American jobs due to "offshoring" have come as a result of America's own consumer appitite. The issue is not foriegn build quality standards co...

Re: We want our MTV! RIP
Perhaps the reason the MTV of today is a "programing schmultz" is because it was "an insperation for a generation".Jeff Robinson wrote:MTV, once an inspiration for a generation, now lifestyle programming schmultz.
I mean no disrespect to the nature of this thread..

Indie Record Store Numbers
In light of the slump in CD sales that the bigger record stores (tower, virgin, best buy...) report, I'm currious if anyone knows how indie record stores are doing. I'm not aware of any mechanism that tracks sales at the indie level, so any hearsay/opinions are welcome. If you can piont me to any ar...

Re: Who's making Xmas presents this year?
The downside, of course, is that looking at this thing in my music room next to a banjo makes me feel like the dude in A Mighty Wind. No whorehouse though. My kid's only 3.5. That's hilarious. I've actually got a couple of gift related projects on the go. I made an old fashioned sled for my niece a...

Re: need your honest opinion on this recording..
I really like the sound clip. What do you call yourself? I'd love to hear it in it's completed form. I liked the "hushed" vocal btw. Words sometimes have a tendancy to get in the way. I think you would loose impact if you altered your delivery for the sake of pronunsiation as suggested at the begini...
