Given the occasional water in the basement, might go for a trash bin / golf bag setup. Thought I'd forward this along for other ideas....

Mic stands - fold them down and store them upright in a golf bag or large diameter sonotube. Cases are what crawlspaces and the weird triangular space under stairs were made for. If that doesn't work try lying them flat and stacking them. Or just get them the hell out of your work space and into th...

Help! I'm drowning! Spring cleaning / storage ideas?
My basement is a disaster, and I want to clean up the clutter. Short of selling off stuff, I'm looking for ideas of how to store gear, especially awkward items like: * mic stands * PA speakers and monitors * instrument cases (guitar, drum, other gear) * amps I have a pretty good handle on guitars (w...

In addition to the plate and reverse reverb, there might be a fun setting for "stereo" that exagerates the stereo space. If it's one of the patches, it's a lot of fun.

Dumb question: did you flip the switch back to Firewire from the ADAT switch? (the switch further away from the Firewire input jacks)(See page 24 on the Users Guide). I'm betting you have it set for ADAT instead of Firewire (especially since you were using the Lightbridge). Oh, and one other crucial...

(Relatively) cheap stuff that has worked for me doing sound design: * Large diaphragm dynamics (SM7, PR40, and if you stretch the definition, e906)(easy to use, takes out the room reflections, takes EQ well) * Adobe Audition (the plugins dedicated to noise reduction are worth the whole cost by thems...

I'm starting to think that, based on these stories and other tales, it really boils down to getting a rig that is closest to how you started. If you started in PT, get PT. If you started on Fruity Loops, work with loopers. If you learned on an analog board, at least get a board that has its controls...
