I wouldn't be to scared. Just get a good sounding cardiod mic and put it pretty close to your player and space them out far enough and I think you'll be fine. There will be bleed but as long as the source is louder than the bleed you'll be cool. Add some room mics for depth and "realism" and I thin...

Thank you very much all for your answers. I found really good advice in what you said. I am used to record small acoustic ensemble, etnic music. I play Ottoman music myself so I am close to this music. Usually I use Stereo mic in the room + mono spot mics. They want a more "modern" than the traditio...

If it were me I would probably start by arranging the players so the bass is center, oud and daf left and right, respectively. Stereo room mics...blumlein if you can, and mono spot mics. I probably wouldn't record any of the individual instruments "stereo", but perhaps you could overdub the daf and...

Live everybody inthe same room. -Oud -Daf -Double bass The trio does not really play acoustically balanced, so basic stereo room micing with spot mics is not really achievable. I am looking for ideas before the recording step about how to place them ...

Hello, Bad story : My 19a18 was making some weird noises wich seems to sounds like a dying tube. I ordered new tube on ebay. I gave the mic to a technician, (I do not feel confident soldering this tiny tube myself) this great magnificient technician did not tested the mic after his shity work, and h...
