The piano parts are composed in Cakewalk Express which is the version I am using. I am using their staff composotion tool. Pax, Steve BACKGROUND: As you may already know, the staff view is a way of editing MIDI files. MIDI files aren't sound in themselves -- they need some kind of synthesizer to pl...

I am, improting stereo wav files and adding them to compsed piano parts. When I place tthe wav fils with the piano parts I have composed I cannot hear the piano (I am sure there is some damned command to make this happen.) Okay. So you have a Cakewalk file open, and import the WAV files. That part ...

Explain more what you're doing? Are you recording & playing back audio? Recording & playing back MIDI? Importing WAVs from elsewhere? What exactly goes wrong? I am, improting stereo wav files and adding them to compsed piano parts. When I place tthe wav fils with the piano parts I have composed I c...

Cakewalk Question

I cannot seem to get .wrk files and .wav to open and play at the same time. can get them both to play separately. Several notes: One I am a midi moron (so this will be shoelaces 101 for me.) Two: I don't have an external midi module. Thanks. Any help that can be provided would be splendid. Pax, Steve

So if I'm Steinberg, how much server space is gobble up by an archive copy of Wavelab 3? That would be diddly & squat. I grab a 10 cent CDR burn him a copy & for the additional buck in postage I've purchased a truck load of good will. It's called customer service and it ain't that hard. Ding! Ding!...

Re: DO NOT BUY STEINBERG ANYTHING!!!

Perhaps someone can help... I few years back I bought and installed Steinberg Wavelab 3.0 Anyone who has this softeware knows that you have to occasionally use the CD-Rom to verify authentic ownership. Here's my problem: When I put the disc in my drive the software doesn't recognise it. The program...

"If that doesn't work, I recommend Cool Edit Pro 2.1, which has been very cheap on EBay, and which I chose over Wavelab 4." I second the suggestion about Cool Edit Pro 2.1. I have had nothing but good experiences with that software. I don't hear much about people using it on this forum and am glad ...

Update: After five email's and numerous reinstalls, this is how it got left... If this still does not work, a fresh Win2000 install could help. But this is work and time. You could also wait for the upcoming WaveLab 6, which use a different protection. i/e failure... So I have useless software and a...

Hello Steve, I'm sorry but we no longer have any replacement discs for Wavelab 3 because it is a discontinued product. If you are registered for Wavelab 3, you can order the upgrade to Wavelab 5 at www.steinbergupgrades.com. Wavelab 3 is not designed to work on Windows XP but Wavelab 5 is. Thank yo...

I've been thinking about this, and I guess the quickest way you could determine whether the c.d. is fucked up is installing on another computer (you can always uninstall it). So if you have another p.c. (or maybe a friend) -- doesn't have to be a music p.c. If it doesn't install you know it's the c...

Well, a couple of computer solutions might work. If you are on XP, try a roll-back. If not, try to restore a backup. If you can't, try to re-install over itself. If that doesn't work, uninstall (and I recommend a good cleaning of both the left over files and the registry) and reinstall. If that doe...
