Nick, on the forth picture you sent [ bottom ] to the right of the 4 prong power connector is C204 ..... capacitor ? ..... it is cooked on my unit , like melted . into a flat lump. i unpowered all the drives and turned the unit on .... it seemed that smoke started to come from the ribbon connecting ...

thanks nick s ....... i have mucho pondering to do ......... i will check out your pictures etc ......... pretty sure i fried a capacitor next to the power connector for the drive that was on top of the caddy .......... i have a friend who has some tech background ....... but need to get the schemat...

Damage done ..... top cover removed .... both four pin power supply cables from the board to the internal drive and the front bay are not connected. I can see burn damage to the four pin power supply connector on the board which goes to the internal drive , and major damage to the small square tan b...

Not Good. I open up the unit and noticed that the power supply chord [ 4 pins ] for the front bay enclosure was not plugged in. [ this is directly behind and next to the power connection for the internal drive. I proceeded to plug in the front bay to the board, closed up the unit, and then inserted ...

MX2424 does not read the hard drive [ Seagate ] in the front bay. Only SCSI ID 0 is displayed. The previous owner supplied me with 5 mounted hard drives which i assume he was using etc. Been searching internet for "Option Installation" which was mentioned in the manuel but not to be found in binder ...

just getting started. Plodding through a manual and attempting to familiarize myself with all the terms etc. Was hoping to find those who have gone down this road and can be of help !
