api cosole, nice drum room on east coast

looking to cut drums in march. we need a great sounding room ( not huge) and an api console. radar would be nice as well. looking for something on the east coast.

best sounding D/A converters.

ive used the 8 channel appoge box. i thought it sounded damn good. we tracked the last album using radar converters. they sound even better. what else is out there?

Hey Junkstar,...Heres a bit of fast math for you. We start with a 25k adavance. 2.5k goes to the lawyer who did the deal (standard 10% commission). The manager gets 20%, thats another 5k off the top. Lets be conservative and say the band has no outstanding debts. They only spend a grand on repairing...

However, unless you are a "name" guy with a track record of selling lots of albums, you will most likly get paid just before or at the same time the band does. 1. hightlight all your track tracks. 2. under the audio menu select "bounce to disc". 3. under project menu select "soundbites". 4. highlight the mix soundbite and find "export selected bites" option. 5. export the files to your desktop as an aiff file. 6. drag the files into a new itunes playlist.

ok, i assume the channel inserts are +4. when run a cable into the adat (which is definitly -10) the signal is way loud. i need to "bump" this signal down to a usable level. the elco snake somebody metioned wont work on this mackie mixer. what are my options?

yea, youre right, ive got 4 channels going into the adat, not 8. the back of adat says "-10 db analog inputs 1-8" im plugging the mic into the mackie mixer and running a "1/4cable (plugged 1/2 way in) out of the channel insert to the adat and then a lightpipe to the 828. the meter on the adat is way...

the jacks are only halfway in. yes, by by default the adat is set at -10.

who knows mackies well?

im using an adat w/ lightpipe to get 8 more channels into my 828. im using a mackie 1202 for pres. im coming directly out of the inserts and into the adat. the signal is screaming loud. ive got the gain and trim knobs all the way down. what am i missing? this just aint right. help a brother out
