Instrument and Amp rental in LA

I've been googling like mad over here and I can find anything. Looking for a place that rents old guitars and basses, an SVT rig, etc. Any advice in the LA area?

it's indie rock, punk rock, whatever you wanna call it. Not too concerned with finding someone who "does that" or has a stamped sound, etc. Just someone who is passionate and unique, and awesome of course. Moderate budget, maybe 2 grand for 7 songs. Preferably LA, pro-tools to 1/2 or 1/4 inch.

Favorite Album Mixers

If this topic has already happened link me up. I did a search but didn't find anything.

Curious about who is known specifically for mixing. I'm trying to find someone to mix and I figure it's a good opportunity to discuss who the kickass mixing people are.

Guitar cab ohm question

I have a 2x12 cab that I'm selling on craigslist and I need to find out how many ohms it's running at. I bought the cab empty and had my tech guy back east put 2-25w greenbacks in it. It has one jack. Each speaker says 8 ohms on the back. I know that he wired them parallel. If the answer is simple b...

Regarding that dreadful Van Halen clip

I started trying to find clips of similar instances throughout the year. Billy Joel at this year's superbowl was another classic. I had trouble finding Milli Vanilli. I did find a nice one of Slash pretty drunk. Any others that are online?

great albums with only 1 guitar track

I've been thinking a lot lately about bands with only one guitar player that don't overdub on records. I played in a punk trio in my teens and from the moment I learned about double tracking and panning, that's what I did. I've been in a 2 guitar band ever since and so I haven't had to deal with it ...

Recording bass through my Bassman 50

My guitar amp is an early 70's Bassman 50 head with an old ampeg 2x12 cab with new greenbacks in it (25w each). I've used this setup from time to time while recording bass, but I've never turned it up too loud in fear that I'd damage the speakers. Lately I've been dying to hear what it sounds like i...

so these Korean G&L's, are they comparable to say, Mexican Fenders? in terms of wood quality, build, etc? What I'd love to here is that they're as nice as American Fenders haha. I gotta find a place around here that sells them. I wish they made one with just one bridge pickup. And the headstock will...

Well look at that, responses, from humans that give a shit. THANK YOU ipressrecord, when you say widening the grooves, do you mean spacing the actual grooves further apart from one another, or widening each individual groove itself? It looks like the original bone nut so it could just be worn and in...

I need serious guitar advice

This is a post that I left on a Gibson forum and nobody responded. It's really long so beware, and I'm sorry if I sound a little crazy. Any advice or encouragement would be greatly appreciated... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This is the s...
