Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....

A pair of JBL 305P MK II powered monitors. Just barely fits on my desktop but that's OK. The merciless accuracy takes some getting used to at first but all told I'm very happy with them. Just what I needed for my particular setup. The ISO130 stands help a lot too in keeping excess object rattling to...

Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....

A pair of JBL 305P MKII monitors. Just fits on my desktop and a real pleasure to use for both monitoring and regular music listening. Also got some ISO130 stands to sit them on.

A Radial Bassbone preamp, V1. Makes a huge difference in my bass tracks, better presence punch and top end clarity. https://images.reverb.com/image/upload/ ... 8k2sw8.jpg

Re: Coronavirus Plans (what are yours?)

Now in the process of writing lyrics and music for a 3rd Talk To Bears album. So far I've laid down some basic instrumental beds for 4 songs, working on lyrics too. My subjects/targets are bears, dimetrodons, the wedding/industrial complex, partially fulfilled dreams and the Ray Conniff Singers and ...

BEARS cover

A cover I did of a song I remember from my childhood. Originally performed by The Fastest Group Alive circa 1966, this is my updated take. I did all guitar and bass parts plus organ, spoken vocal and loops. My old cohort Jaya Drats did the backup vocal parts.

Re: What musical thang didja work on today/night?

Recreating from memory (sadly no recordings can be found) a song a pianist/singer/songwriter friend wrote and performed live in the late 90's or so (I was his bassist) . Always loved the song (called "Turpentine", a little ditty about moonshiners) and finally summoned up the nerve to ask him if I co...

Re: Basic home setup advice

Not sure how involved your productions will be, but FWIW, I'd recommend either Reaper or Cubase, AI good solid DAW's , work well on Mac and Windows both, reasonably priced. The UR22 MK II interface with Cubase has worked very well for me on my recent projects. I also hear that Focusrite interfaces a...

From The Cave To You, sardonic musings

At last, an EP I've been piecing together over the last year has finally been completed and made available for public consumption. Sardonic musings about amateur spies, railroads, sociopaths, lone desert phone booths and more https://store.cdbaby.com/cd/talktobears It was all accomplished on a Lenov...
