Yup! Heck, for the price I got it for, even if I used it rarely for my own amusement, it's worth it.stereopathetic_banjo wrote:

I just bought a mono headstack.
Man, am I excited! I've been meeting a fair amount of bluegrass/punk guys at shows lately and they all seem really into the idea of minimalist recording scenarios. Live to two track, OR super ballsy one track. I've talked to a few artists, and they seem game, so now the time has come! Wooooo....here...

I got some KRKV4's from Jason Lewis last year, and really dug them. I've since replaced them with a pair of B&W 602s' powered by a NAD amp, mainly because bands wanted to hear things really rocking in the control room, and the small KRK's didn't really have the girth at high volume. BUT, they were g...

I was fortunate enough to attend the event Chris is talking about, and I can say it was a great time. Not only for the purpose of the event, but also the chance to hang with local engineers as well as hang on the couch with Randy Blevins and John French telling war stories! The weekend won't soon be...

Nashville Recording Workshop, Feb 20-21
Any tape-oppers heading to this thing? I'm strongly considering heading down, and would love to say hello to anyone doing the same. It'll be my first convention, AES or otherwise. I'm psyched!

I dunno if Inverseroom has his still available, but a Symetrix 501 is a rad compressor for cheap. I picked up two a few months back, and use them all sorts of ways from crushing a submix, to snares and DI bass comp. You could grab a 501 and a used RNC for the cost of a new VLA, maybe. Food for thoug...

I was wondering if that was the 500 at Westend! I talked to Mike Miller after yours and Steve Sadler's recommendations, and the guy is super nice and helpful- offered to build the discrete mix buss for mine and everything. Very cool. I love hearing 'old' stories from 10 years ago or whatever, when p...
