Hi 8th note, I know this thread is old, but it's great for reference. Just wanted to thank you for the time you spent in recording these preamps and sharing this with us. Sincere Thanks, Don

My first set was a blue sparkle Norma. The footpedal broke quickly. The drum sound was good. Too bad there was not the selection of drumheads as is avaiable today.

cgarges, My apologies. I'm allmost positive you're correct! I remember that Norma and Kent were the less expensive alternative to the big name drums when I started playing. That's why I assosiated Kent with the "Made In Japan"lable which back then was not the sign of high quality. I'd also heard tha...

A set of blue sparkle Roger's (pre CBS) and a Gretsch satin swirl kit would make that collection drum heaven for me..... Mabe an old Norma or Kent Japanese set to round it out!

I liked using Vater Blazer wood tip sticks for a long time. The problem is the only shop stocking Blazers is a long ride from my home. On several occasions after taking that long ride they were out of stock. Now I just Ebay for bulk sticks. I try to get Ebay deals on name brand sticks of 5b or heavi...

Re: Any opions on the Peluso CEMC-6?

Thanks for the replies. Hey Dot, I really enjoy the Listening Sessions. This might sound like a stupid question but What is ment by "not transparent". Does that mean slightly muddy? Thanks again, Don

Any opions on the Peluso CEMC-6?

There's not much info on this mic. It seems to be priced between the Asian imports and the Josephson. Has anyone used it for O/H or acoustic guitar? Is it a bright mic. Worth the money? Thanks in advance, Don

Re: Recording Paranormal Activity

My cousin and I went to a couple of cemetaries with a mini disc recorder and camera. Took a bunch of pictures and recorded. Found nothing. Might try it again. It's peaceful in cemetaries at night.

Re: WTB/trade: Yamaha Recording Custom Kick Drum (black)

Hi Carges, You may consider getting a used Recording or Tour 16"x18" floor tom, 2-18" hoops, a $25 lifter (attaches to the hoop and lifts drum up for a more centered beater hit). I did just that with a Yamaha Tour floor tom. It's now a great sounding kick. Oh I forgot to add that for BD legs I use 2...

Re: Dynamic Mics that everyone should have?

For live vocals Another vote for the EV767, just got one and used it last night for a live backing vocals with a small PA (Mackie 808s and 2-15" Yamaha speaker cabs) nice clear sound. I had been using a 57 but the EV seemed much more clear. Haven't tried it for recording yet.

Thanks for the replies. I think he just has a huge ego, and it's been hurt because he didn't think the band could survive without him.

I have nothing against cheat sheets, I've used them on spot jobs. But if someone's constantly nit picking over my sweating he better have his stuff togeather.
