I have a digi001 so you do need digi hardware to run protools. The mackie is assignable under the midi controllers section in PT.You have to download the Hui driver from digidesign after version 6.1.

Hey Brad. I use and thoroughly enjoy mine. The display shows the track name and has a crude level meter. It's really intuitive and i don't regret my investment at all.The swelling in my right hand has gone wont quite abit.;)

I love my M9 for guitar and some vocalists.I bought it because I liked it on acoustic guitar but it gets just as much use on electric.Combined with a 421 on a speaker the sound is HUGE.

Re: new Helmet

I saw Helmet with Lubricated Goat and Boss Hog at CBGB's in 91 and there live sound was unbelievable!Their power and intensity was something I'll never forget. Can't say that I've heard that captured on album yet!

Re: ADAT question : "high" and "low" hou

I used a blackface adat up to ~6000 hrs before the power supply went bad (not the heads). These are pretty easy to clean yourself.Do a web seacrh on manually cleaning ADATS.Be sure to keep the rubber idler tire clean.Use 409 or rubber cleaner on it.DONT use alcohol as it will dry out the rubber. The p...

Re: Gary Numan

I recorded The Church of Gary Numan: A Dark Celebration a few years ago for Jim Collins a rabid Numan fan. It's his interpretatons of Numan's stuff. All in all it's not too bad and we sure had fun doin' it. Gary definatly grabbed my ear but I think he whispers in Jimmy's constantly! ;)

Re: DAW selection advice needed for Alesis HD24

The hd24 will hook up to your computer without an interface all you need is a network card. It's not super fast but your tracks will be available for you to use any DAW that you want.

Re: ADAT --> MAC lots of questions : HELP HELP!

If you have some kind of lightpipe interface even just 8 trks at a time print a tone at the begining of the song.ie(track one on each machine)Then import them into your DAW and visually line up the tones and your tracks will be in sync.Kinda ghetto but it works everytime!
