Re: Lunar Ecstasy

Ear Jeff,

I DID dig it.

But I'm a sucker for smooth, although crazed and barely in control overdriven guitar sound.

Nice.

Cheers,

bill

Re: Check it out.....TorQue

Guys, hi Well-recorded straight-ahead rock! - What happened to rock anyway? I remember seeing Rat Race Choir back in days hangin' in Conn. You got airplay from WPLR New Haven if I remember correctly. Ah to be young and listening to Double U Pot Lovers Radio! Production note: loved the pumping over-c...

Re: glass drums and vise grips

Dear Mr. Psychicoctopus, You got a nice mellow groove going on there. I listened all the way through - twice. (don't often do that). I'm into piezo'd spackle tubs and malt whisky presentation cans with rehabilitated speakers inside (micro re-amping). The sound is cool and it recycles urban junk that...

Re: new demo of a tune.

Dear John, I really enjoyed your tune and SM57 the rock 'n' roll vibe. So nicely done I feel like a spoilsport putting in 2.023 cents (inflation!). Loved the kick timbre but though it was too prominent in the opening stanza. That's minor, right. Don't hate me cuz I'm anal (now THAT doesn't sound rig...

Re: holiday song

Dear Mechanic: You would like NRBQ - I KNOW I love 'em. I work part time at a wine store that has satellite radio and the owner puts on the Xmas station this time of year. It's hard to imagine the sheer number of versions of "Sleigh ride"! Dick Dale tremolo surf guitar ---ugggh! Please stop, its cru...

Re: one guitar track.

Dear Ned, Those tapping harmonics are indeed haunting, chimey and changing in timbre. The opening strummed chords and lower register of the tapped section could use a little EQ; bit murky, I think. Try sweeping a parametric EQ cut on the finished track between 250 and 400 Hz and see if and where (ce...

Re: more indie pop from columbus, OH

Hi, Drew - I been remastering some 80's masters of New Wave stuff found among the effects of very talented musician who passed away far too soon. Old bandmates wanted to put together a tribute CD of these and his released work. A sad way to get work but I'd forgotten the energy and just plain fun of...

Re: My new website with Audio Clips

Hi,

Listened to Truth Game and it was "Wicked Pissah!" (Boston talk for "Way Cool").

Even considering MP3, internet feed, office computer and walkman headphones, etc production sounded great and it's just simply a good tune.

Good work - much luck.

cheers,

Bill

Re: Whoopee! Rough Mix of A New Tune From The King & Car

Dear Joe, No intent in "building a mystery"! VST is Steinberg?s standard for plugin Fx and virtual instruments. DirectX is Microsoft's competing "standard". Quick check shows that Cool Edit (now owned by Adobe) is VST compatible, at least in current versions. SilverSpike Audio has a free VST plug th...

Re: Whoopee! Rough Mix of A New Tune From The King & Car

Hi, In time, in tune, well tracked - well done. I don't know how you're mixing but if you're using a VST capable DAW for the mix or mastering, I've got a suggestion for integrating or "knitting together" the whole fabric w/o losing definition. Just the thing, I think. Cheap and easy, too. I'll give ...

Re: Just mixed yesterday.......awaiting everyones 2 cents

Hi, I liked it, I hope it does well for you. Nice grunge and grind without the mud that is often offered as "density". One suggestion - the mix is nicely layered during transistions and instrumental sections but the melodic element (single line guitar) is subdued during vocal sections. Maybe just my...
