Re: White Noise Supremists
Interesting! I'll bet that's a British thing, like calling a truck a lorry? Actually the correct spelling would be SUPREMACIST - in American English anyway - and I know how we've butchered the mother tongue, so I'll defer to you...bobbydj wrote:And anyway, shouldn't it be White Suprematists?

Well, fellas, I think he's got us here. I mean his reasoning is certainly sound, and who can argue with such a carefully-constructed, well-reasoned argument? Great citations too.Randall wrote:Fuck you

Re: White Noise Supremists
Hey Randall, I'll tell you what sucks - guys who use FOUR COMMAS in a row! And you have the audacity to criticize the linguistic disposition of an entire discourse community yet you don't even know how to spell the word MONITOR correctly? The irony of course, is that it was in in the very same sente...

chocolatechickenpotpie , As far as tapeopcon goes, people are fine as soon as they understand that everyone is talking the same language and are on the same page. I'm sorry, I still don't get it. Did something happen at the con that put you off? Seriously, I want to know because I met only the cool...

Actually, that is slang for 'anus' at least out here on the west coast - often used in West Hollywood.trashy wrote: Mangina (you know, vagina and man combined together.)

Re: White Noise Supremists
I concur with CCPP for the most part. But I'd point out that rap hasn't been an "underground" thing for about twenty years, and was mainstream before there was such a thing as "gangsta rap". I guess what I meant to say was "upstanding moral citizens" didn't view it as a threat until gangsta found i...

Re: White Noise Supremists
Awright peeps, Can we restore a little decorum here? We're not gonna solve anything by slingin' FUs! I found it funny how all the sudden all this racist crap just sorta sprang outta nowhere when the original question posed was "should I allow the friends of such and such client to come into the stud...

Re: posse in the studio?
Let's get real for a moment; I get crazy looks from people when I go to the TapeOpCon's until I see my old friend Larry Crane and chat him up a bit. Then it gets worse, 'cause they then look all weird and wonder how I know HIM. Is it me with the problem or them? Probably a little bit of both. I don...

Re: Is my tape machine floating?
Oh and one more hint - don't start your time code at '0!' You'll hate yourself for it if you don't leave yourself enough preroll - synchronizers can't go backwards in time! Start at 01:00:00.00 to keep everything simple, especially once you realize you want to move things around and have to calculat...

Re: Is my tape machine floating?
I am using a Tascam tsr8 to record this album. I am pretty much just diving into this and I hit what could be a serious snag. The problem is I need way more tracks to pull off what this album should sound like (at least 16). Naw... come on, you can do it on 8! I'm serious. Much much very very cool ...
