how do you clean orange soda out off a mic?
Okay. I believe this falls in the "dumb-ass" catagory but please be gentle. I was on a film shoot working boom op and sound mixer. I have a RODE-NT6 that i had positioned behind a wood brace to help capture room sound and specificly an on-set crash of a glass table broken by a ceiling fan. I h...

Headrests (chair headrests)
I know i might be nit-picking but...
Can a chair's headrest affect your monitoring environment? I mean people talk about relatively small things acting as obstructions causing comb-filtering I was just wondering if chair choice will "colour" your sound.
just a thought

Ground loop hum - 2.1 Active Monitors- CONFUSED FRUSTRATED
I made a christmas birthday present purchase for my wife. She likes her turntables and wanted some small speakers for here office. I got some Samson S5a and S88 sub package. To connect to her dj mixer with out the need for an amp. The samson system appealed to me cause of the un-balanced input for t...

Clint Mansell & Kronos from "The Fountain"
Not much other than a holla at ya boy. But Damn! I just saw this with my wife today. Its a powerful film; contextually, visually, sonically, and musically. I had been waiting for this movie for a while. But it blew away my expectations. Wonderful creative use of the surround medium. Both in the EFX/...

I'm running windows XP professioanl SP2 thanks for looking around for me. Although I found that page when I first encountered the problem and it didn't explain much to me. It has too much information on the subject of ACMFORMATCHOOSE for SDK (software development kits). I dunno maybe if I study it f...

ACMFORMATCHOOSE structure too small?
So I recently got a new Plextor PX-755SA and plextools professional software came with it. the 755SA is a SATA connected DVD-+RW writer. It was purchased in an emergency situation and I though (at the time WTF spend the extra cash you need a good drive) A couple of projects later and I need to go ba...

Fluid Sucks
I went to another ENT who said he thought we should do all we could to avoid the lancing, and he fixed me up. I'd been on a steroid prescription for a week, which helped, and then we took care of the rest in a less invasive manner. He had me take a sip fo water, hold it in my mouth, and then with a...

Well sampling HBO could be a start and would be a welcome addition to my library but alas I have not HBO nor the desire to try for a license if I ever felt I needed to go that way. Also it's not quite the sound I'm going for. I'm looking more for the electrical thumping from my living room set. (aft...

MICING A TELEVISION (Not the speaker)
I am looking to mic a television to get the sound of it powering on. But I can't seem to find the spot to get the real "P-CLUNK...HWEIII" and the ZAP-burp. I'v tried behind it and in front and slightly above. I want to use this as a base element for a larger sound design. - transistions etc. It's di...

drum library reviewed in TO: Can't find the issue. Can You?
I have been on the look out for a drum library that was reviewed in an previous issue of TAPE OP and am racking my brain as to what it was called. For the life of me I can't remember and I just moved so all my issues are packed away in a box and only my wife knows where it may have been I remember i...
