Sound Workshop, Harrison or MCI boards?

What does everyone feel is the best board of this category? I'm talking about the 70's/80's style analog boards such as Sound Workshop Series 30, 34, 40, and Harrison and MCI boards. Or other boards of the same type.

repairs/mods/upgrades to sound workshop series 34

I just purchased a Sound Workshop Series 34 board and I was wondering if anyone knew of any mods/repairs/or upgrades I could do to it. I have no idea when of if it has been recapped or even serviced. Anybody know anything about sanding Acoustic guitar saddles?

I just bought this incredibly nice Alvarez AD60FU dark cherry finish acoustic, and the saddle is cracke din a few places. I bought a new saddle but I'm not quite sure how to go about filing it down, or any of the logistics involved. Anyone know what to do?

Re: Anyone have any expereince with Sound Workshop boards?

I had originally wanted to get a Series 34 that was for sale, but that fell through. So I am now looking at a 1600 Series. It has 28 inputs (16 parametric eq, 12 sweepable EQ) 16 buss, 28 monitor, 4 flexible sends, matrix arms tape-based automation, patchbay, complete outboard 24-Track tape machine ...

Re: Anyone have any expereince with Sound Workshop boards?

Oh man, there's not even anything to discuss...always, always, always through an amp. Nothing sounds like a nice tube amp. Long live analog.
