Web Compression Problem? Help!
Here's one for you. First off, I am a tinkerer, and by no means an audio professional (as evidenced by this post!) I uploaded a track that I recorded on Logic Express 7 to Soundcloud and it sounds like crap. The MP3 that I created had some light "dithering" characteristics, but the "fidelity" was st...

CZ-101 Sound Editing?
Anyone have luck editing sounds on the CZ? The memory seems limited, as most sounds that I have created have been "forgotten" by this beasts' brain. Pretty much at this point I am interested in using it to make bell sounds, and perhaps recreate a theramin sound a friend came up with. Most of the edi...

Digital Performer 5.1 permissions error? (OS X 10.4.6)
Has anyone else had the issue of installing DP 5.1, and not being able to proceed past the registration page? I type my name, I enter my serial, then the window pops up again. If you have, please let me know if you were able to overcome this. (I've done the "repair permissions" thing, as well as "re...

Cheap Mic Deathmatch
Now, I know a lot of people here are tiring of hearing the same old questions, but I figured I'd condense this all in to one big noob fyi.
Set-up: home studio
Use: detailed guitars, vocals, sparse drums
Budget: around $125
Mics: MXL V63M versus Behringer B-1
Which would you choose?

Thanks. I am pretty new to this gear game! It just seems a lot of powered mics take 48v. I'm stepping up from my SM58's into this parallel universe of condenser this and preamp that and there are just so many products. Again, it's been said so many times, but this community is an incredible resource...

I think I'm going to trust my instincts with the 990/991 combo pack thing and say no go. It's just that with the 41.4v thing, they are also offering free shipping. Just raises my eyebrows a bit. While we're at it, can anyone recommend a good, cheap(er) pre? I was looking at the ART MP, but I am not ...

MXL 990/991 and Audio Buddy
Anyone heard anything about these mics/preamp. They are running a $100 promotion on this combo pack at GuitarCenter.com.
The only downside I can find is that the mics run off of 41v, not 48v.
Anyone heard anything else?
Thanks!
Matt

Free Subscription Help
I read the stickied post in the forum, but I submitted a while back (in the fall)? Just wondering if there would be difficulty getting a new free subscription at a different address than I had initially gotten a freebie with. I know it's free, but I just wanted to clear this up before jumping in and...

Will this program allow me to sample things? I'm very, very new to the MIDI world and picked up a CME UF5, and want to play self-made samples. I'm not much for sequencing (yet), but am looking to cut up audio samples and play them. My engineer was saying I should be able to do this in DP, but it doe...

Re: more indie pop from columbus, OH
the bass really propels this song. I think it is a perfect counterpart to the dirty guitar. Dirty is good. Maybe a touch less volume in the mix, but don't lay off it too much.
but the bass, I dig.
