Re: Snare side head tuning?

IIRC I have both top and bottom heads set to 80 on my DrumDial as a starting point. Memory's going so that may not be the right number. They are tuned fairly equally though.

Damn, I'm running a set of Minimus through a Fosi as well, with a single Avantone in the center.

Re: My poor hears are getting old

I feel like I could mix by sense of smell, so old am I.
Still you might want to get someone with functioning ears to check the mix...

Re: The bottom of the snare

I like discussing mic technique as much as the next guy or gal, But to my mind, it's really about living through the fall of civilization. Am I alone over here?
And yes, mic the bottom of the snare,
Are we not men? We are bot snr mic men.

Re: My poor hears are getting old

Most surprising thing about hearing aids is now when walking down the street, it sounds like I'm driving in a convertible at 60MPH windwise. Stills beats not being able to understand even the quietest human speech. It's not like I like to hear the humans speak. So over it. Singing is a different story

Ah, the bottom of the snare,
Nothing good comes from there,
It squeaks, it buzzes,
It hums and chatters
And we're just gonna use a sample in the mix
I will hunt you down and in your sleep, terrible things may happen.
