Re: RIP SPOT

Them albums changed the sound of rock. I am especially fond of the Puppets stuff. Rock In Peace

Re: RIP, Jeff Beck

Feel like I only show up here when somebody dies.
When my time comes I hope y'all can find it in yer heart to remember the one or two good things I tried to pull off.
Anyways,
Beck didn't play electrified acoustic guitar, he played a new 6 stringed beast. And he did it his own way.
Respect

Excellent. I've been watching Otis for a while. Some great road stories on that channel.

Holy shit! I only knew Chris from TapeOp, but he seemed like one of the sane ones. Too soon. RIP brother.

Re: Anyone ever use one of these kick mic mounts?

I have one in my kick w/ a D112 in it. I have a short XLR tail on it coming out of one side of a Pearl rack tom/ kick mount (my tom is not mounted on the kick).Super convenient. There is some adjustability in the distance from the batter head (but not much, 2-3”). Positions the mic where I would try...

Re: McCartney 3,2,1

Emerick also wrote about how Paul would come in and redo bass parts - punching in sections to make sure ever line was articulated correctly. I dare say very few do that these days and instead some engineer will "fix" a wonky note here and there instead... This is the reason for those sweet basslines.

Re: Thunderbolt to Firewire or Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2?

I'm "doing the double dongle" to use a motu 828 mkii over USB-C, works great! Spent more on dongles than the device. I’m using the same interface w/ these two adaptors. Re: Tom Mic Comparison

Self recordist here, I use 4033s cos I have two toms and I have two of these mics. I don’t always do a lot of tom work but when I do, coated ambs on top, clear on the bottom: tis the Crack of God. I always ride the volume, post recording.
