Re: Thunderbolt to Firewire or Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2?

I'm "doing the double dongle" to use a motu 828 mkii over USB-C, works great! Spent more on dongles than the device. I’m using the same interface w/ these two adaptors. Re: Tom Mic Comparison

Self recordist here, I use 4033s cos I have two toms and I have two of these mics. I don’t always do a lot of tom work but when I do, coated ambs on top, clear on the bottom: tis the Crack of God. I always ride the volume, post recording.

~17yrs ago: during a weekly CD-R duplication project (making & mailing about 250 discs) for national radio syndicated programming, I managed to accidentally run 30 copies of a punk band’s EP and mail them out to Christian radio stations all over the country.
I just want to personally thank you

Re: How important is it to mic the bottom of a snare?

I do it. It brings out the Saltine. Usually 57/i5 about 1.5-2" away, perpendicular and NOT directly under the snares.

I'm starting to take this kind of stuff personal and all, being old and shit. Still I could die a hundred times and it wouldn't touch this.
