Thanks everyone for the info

Thanks for the info on the lossless format. I'm hoping ITUNES coverts at the highest possible conversion, making the assumption that really there is only one lossless format level etc.

Apple Lossless TuneCore question?

I'm going to try uploading my new CD to TuneCore, they request conversion to the Apple Lossless format-then I have no need to send in a CD etc. My question is which software is best for this conversion PC user here. I think buying Quicktime pro is the only way to get the ability to convert files to ...

That's the band page, I'm still using the Fostex VF160 or the Korg 3200 to record basic tracks then off to the Studio I go.

Re: Just got a D112 Kick Mic - the level is too high! help!

The VF160 has 6 1/4 plugs, and 2 xlr...so I have to use converters for the 6 1/4.inputs..I'm .using good monster cables...there are knobs to adjust for input volume...and of course it's down all the way, as well as the fader. Im wondering if the having the blanket over it and the mic being so close ...

Just got a D112 Kick Mic - the level is too high! help!

We put the mic inside the kick drum..facing the beater....using xlr converted to 1/4 direct mic cable into track one of the Fostex VF 160 the whole kick drum is covered by a blanket. The new sound is great, full, punchy, but the level is just way to high...the fader and mic input is all the way down...

Re: a brand new song- "Choices"

I really liked the vocal styles...the drums sounded tight and clear..the guitar(solo) was a nice change in the song. I like see someone else admitting they use a POD, they don't get much respect round these parts. This reminded me of Rush, prog rock..with a bit of an updated sound. Mike G. Fallen Man

Re: Need Ears to Check Mix

:D I think this song cuts through...not my usual kind of music but it sounds great. The drums really cut through and seem to be full and clear. I liked the guitar tone, it has a unique twang to it. I used to listen to some bands with this kind of good time vibe but your lyrics seem ironic, serious. ...

Re: Mixed, Mastered, and ready for some feeback!

:D I took a listen to your new song Abyss..I thought it sounded pretty tight and the guitar had a nice tone to it. I know some other people were bagging on your songs, but I think you got something professional sounding. The fact it sounds so good in streaming audio is a feat on its own. I didn't he...

Anyone using the VF160 from Fostex? 16 track digital with CD

I'm interested in hearing from anyone using the VF160 16 track digital recorder with CDburner, techniques, ideas, all welcome...anyone who can mix using the VF160...interested in that as well. I have one, had it for a while, and I love it, however, I'm sure I could learn something new.

Re: Line 6 pod, c'mon admit it!, who's owned one!??

I guess I'm in the minority , but I have the Pod 2.0, the foot board and together they work great for me. I get great tones, great delays, and the wah is fantastic. All other line 6 products haven't come close to the tones I can get on the 2.0 Pod. I do confess to running it through an ART stereo tu...

1 inch 24 track I need to save some vocals-help wanted

I have some old material on Ampex 499 Reel that is 1 inch 24 track, and I need to save some vocal tracks. Anyone local in the Sacramento, San Francisco area with a machine that can run this stuff? I just need to burn a wav. file for use on a computer. Thanks for any help. Mike
