Re: Could Forums Like This Make a Comeback?

Facebook groups suck. Search is shit (the concept is to keep people interacting, not to provide a resource), and visibility depends upon algorithms. MUCH prefer forums. But I'm old. This (apologies for the belated reply). FB is shit for the kinds of things that message boards do well. I've seen var...

Re: speakers for laptop? budget = £200-ish

I'm currently in the process of "auditioning" a few pairs of speakers and will update with info soon.

Thanks for mentioning Edifier stuff - I'll have a close look at their range.

Re: speakers for laptop? budget = £200-ish

probably depends on what you have connected to the laptop. Are you going straight out of the headphone jack or do you have some kind of audio interface? headphone jack won't get you the best sound, so some kind of D/A converter (DAC) will help. Most likely going to be USB connected, but you didn't ...

speakers for laptop? budget = £200-ish

Eh up every1 I'm after some speakers to listen to mp3s on - all the gubbins on me laptop, basically. I do love listening to music on some £50 in-ear jobs - they're always flattering to poor quality sound files, lo-fi indie pop/rock type of music (which is healthy portion of what I listen to). But ho...

I've had "writer's block" for going on 3 years now. But when I did record myself, I'd come up with some sort of riff, lyric or idea and write it up track by track on the computer. My only real goal, usually, was to have it sound like a real band, playing live off the floor, when I was done. At one ...

Probably a Front Line delay Were those the 70's pedals that came in shrink wrap? Y'know, I think they might have. But I must quickly say that the front line casings changed at least once. The earliest ones were really pretty dumb looking - and the delay had a blue plastic battery cover. Then they c...

Probably a Front Line delay - analogue. A '70s euro budget brand - used for vocals; slap, longer repeats and that kind of thing. Very clean sounding considering its age. I like it a lot, although not on guitar. I suppose really it's a poor man's memory man. I also like the Front Line compressor - th...

Trust me - this thing will be oozing voo-doo. Every damn fader will be dripping with the ES magic. Probably some fan will pay that much just to furnish their living room Elliott Smith shrine with it. Heck, I reckon even if the thing were hollow, totally de-gutted it could fetch in the region of 5k. ...

Yeah - actually that delay sounds great for jazz. But not so good for the unfunny fucktarded ramblings of a pissant twat.
