Re: ribbons for vocals
i have an m160 which i don't like for vocals, but the M260 i have really liked on certain songs. i've seen diff. versions of the m260, mine looks kind of like a 58.
i've had good luck with quiet-ish vocals on the r121, haven't tried it for screaming styles...

Re: analog(ue) synthesizers.
for cheap reliability & ease of use: the MOOG ROGUE (named so people would finally pronounce MOOG correctly -- it rhymes with "rogue") kicks ass. you can still find them (or the Realistic version) pretty cheap and getting great sounds is easy, and it's small -- great for touring. for effed-up squelc...

Re: ATM 25 vs Pro 25
i have normally used my D12 or 4033 for kick -- would the ATM25 or Pro25 work well in COMBINATION with the D12?

Re: "Everybody's Got a Hungry Heart"
not sure about the tapespeed thing; i FEEL like i've heard something about that but can't remember where or if that's what i'm thinking of. i do know he wrote it for the Ramones; i always try to imagine them doing it and can't really. here's some good recording notes about that album though (and the...

Re: fs: KRK RoKit monitors
hey!
are these the RP8's? i've been hearing a lot about those, i'm not too familiar with KRK's in general however.
also, you may have sold these already...
have you?
thanks!

Re: ROLAND VS 2480 USERS
i've had a 1680 for about 5 years now (jeez has it been that long?) and was my upgrade from my portastudio 4-track. at first the terrible roland instruction manual and some non-intuitive things about it drove me nuts, but now while i hate to say it about anything digital, I LOVE THIS THING. i've got...

Re: nylon-string guitar question
thanks for the tips. those parlor size guitars are cool.
wish we had some good used shops around here -- ebay has a million but i've never bought a guitar w/out playing it first, it's a little frightening...

nylon-string guitar question
i've played guitar for years, never had a nylon string guitar, but have found myself wanting "that sound" while recording recently (as opposed to, or in addition to, my steel string Gibson j-50). the other guitars i usually play are a strat and some gibsons -- maurauders, melody makers -- none of wh...

so what you're saying is that $1000 is a good price overall? it's hard to find anyone selling them to know what they're going for these days.
thanks!
