That's my approach, although I would add nice amps for the cheap guitars.

My band, X-teens recorded a couple albums around that same time with Mitch and Don, in both Mitch's Drive-In and Reflection.

I wish I'd paid more attention to their specific techniques, 'cause now I give a damn.

Don't overlook its dirty cousin, the VNLA

I did it. It works well, aesthetics a little dodgy, but more absorption. I set them off a couple inches from the wall with 2X2s.
