To EQ or not EQ?
I have been having this discussion with two of my friends.... they say you should ALWAYS EQ to tape (hard drive, etc) to get the best possible sound starting out. I say NO, you should always EQ during the mix, and just get the hottest signal you can but as uncolored as possible.... What's your opini...

Sunday we were recording for a couple of hours, took a break (darn smokers) and came back... the mixer was emitting a loud humming/buzzing. We finally got that to stop (found out it was not interference) but then we were not getting a signal out of it.... The input lights would light up w/ input. It...

looking for studio work in St. Louis area
I'm new to the whole studio game but very interested in starting a career in it.... I'm in the St. Louis area, most of my work has been done in home recording but I'm trying to find a career doing what I love and recording would be it! Any advice would be appreciated as well.
