Re: ADAT question : "high" and "low" hou
I think we're getting away form the topic here, but one thing you will need to prepare for is getting the alcohol to clean with. You need to use 99.8% pure anhydrous alcohol and nothing lower than that percentage on the headstack. Problem is, this is considered a hazardous material, therefor they do...

Re: Resources for used gear in NY(C) area
I'm looking for a 2 track machine to experiment with. Mainly to mix down my CEP and/or ADAT sessions to help em out before going to CD. Also to learn how these machines work and how to service them before going to something bigger (8 track.) I've been looking into either an otari mx5050 2 track, or ...

Re: Cool Edit Mixdowns...somthing missing
Thats sounds like some good stuff. I get the audio into CEP via ADAT digital. I have been looking into getting a nice comp, and sending the mixdown into that, then to my cd deck. Then I can bypass the CEP hard limit on the mixdown, and possibly sweeten my mix with a nice compressor. Then again, the ...

sensitivity of the tapeop omins
I was playing around with my tapeop omni, and noticed that the mic capsule fits into the hole in my snare. I wanted to experiment, but first I want to make sure this wont damage the mic capsule, and also make sure this isn't a straight up stupid idea. In my mind the omni capsule will pick up sound o...
