I hope no one takes what I'm saying as any sort of slam on Mark. I'm sure he put a lot of work into the mic. I'm also sure that he's done this before and has a pretty good background in mic hacks. But, my point was/is, doesn't AKG pay a lot of folks, probably a lot more than Mark, to design these th...

Tape Op #75 Review of AKG C1000 Mod - What's Wrong with this
OK...we've all discussed for years how bad the AKG C1000 mic is....no secret there and it's not really subjective. Overall, bad sounding mic. I just (finally) read the review of the mod in the new issue. Here's what I'm floored by....it sounds like there were no changing of components, only some mod...

...sounds just like you'd expect a Les Paul to sound that cost over $2K. The other ones.....Studio, Classic, Robot and all others are something else. This one's a real Les Paul. Side by side with my vintage and custom shop models, this one's right there. I hear ya though....I'm not a fan of Gibson t...

FS: Les Paul Standard AA Top
This is the one you want. This one is in great shape and is one of the best looking guitars I've seen. The top is killer. It sounds just like you'd expect as well. This one has the fast 60s neck. It's in a banged up Gibson brown case. The only reason that I'm considering selling this one is that I'm...

Gibson's never realized that like Fender, they too haven't designed anything since about 1964 that anyone gives a shite about either. I do love my Gibson's, but hate their company direction. The list of cool companies that Gibson's bought and buried or just ruined: Opcode Slingerland Epiphone (debat...

I have got to say, and not to be a jerk, but to be brutally honest...If you can not make a 57 sound good and usable, you should probably find a new line of work...Really. It may not be the best mic, but it freaking works. Ive used em on everything, and it always delivers a usable result. Sure, ther...

Can you bake the beer and vomit off the masters? Seriously, I'd kill to hear their records mixed properly. Starting with Boink....junkshop wrote: ++++++1,000,000,000,000.
Once it's done it's done.
Although........I wish someone would remix all those Replacements records without that horrid 80's production.

I've had probably a hundred vintage kits and has been stated above, they're all good. Some though are great and can't be topped with any modern kit that i've ever heard. That's really a biased statement as I prefer the sound of vintage kits. Anyway, there are some very expensive vintage drums (grets...

I got it from SPI. Here's their site: http://www.spi-co.com/index.html They're located nationwide in larger cities. They sell every major brand of rigid fiberglass as well as other acoustical treatment products. I don't remember the exact price, but it was around 1/2 the price of the Owens version. m
