Re: Bomb Squad

Talk about a great studio booking doubleheader: "It Takes a Nation of Millions" immediately followed by "Dayrdream Nation". (Greene St. Studio, 1988, correct?)[/quote]

Yes, Greene Street!

It happened to me twice and both times coincided with mixing two separate projects!

No cures that I know of for a true inner ear fluid thing. Just needs to run it's course. Now, at the first sign of congestion it's lotsa fluids, fruits, vitamins and Afrin..... Yikes!

I based my guess on the ask price coupled with the fact that the link provided referred to it as a 'cabinet' and not a 'combo' or 'amp'. It is clearly a guess. I knew that the Model 45's came both with or without an amp. I figured they would advertise the fact that there was a tube amp in the 'cabin...

That does not look like a Model 145. I believe it is a Model 45. That would make it a one speed Leslie (i.e. off OR tremelo modes, no chorale). The 45 was available with and without an amp built in so you'll have to check that out. Sounds like this one might NOT have the amp based on the link you pr...

The Tape Em unit delivers as advertised and subtly warms up digital recordings with a very 'tape-like' compression and EQ curve. that's the one I've been curious about as well. Sounds lovely, but $1700 lovely? That, I'm not sure. How are you using it; 2-buss, tracking, drum submixes? Do you happen ...

We're loving our Portico gear. We have both the dual pre (5012) and the Tape Em (5042) units.

The Tape Em unit delivers as advertised and subtly warms up digital recordings with a very 'tape-like' compression and EQ curve.

Re: "Cold-soldering" soldering iron?

I have two of them. They DO work as advertised and seem to use an arc-welding type of principal.

I would NOT use them on printed circuit boards or other components but I DO use them to make and repair cables and such.
